1. Palladian Villa

Originally this Italian Villa had a mix of contemporary and period decor. Included are photos with the all-contemporary décor new owners transitioned to, while keeping the three ceilings.

The rotunda is 38’ high. At its center Apollo is on his daily course around the sun, surrounded by “Four Virtues of Honesty, Integrity, Wisdom and Fortitude”. Large panels depict “Four Seasons”. At each column base is a winged figure of “Fertility of The Four Elements of Earth”. (Element of “Air” is shown). Edie designed the moldings with a plaster company; the center design, middle of columns and two large circular moldings at its base. These both serve to ‘frame’ the rotunda and contain the light tray. The bedroom and office ceilings are an architectural decorative painting technique. As stencils are never used, each unique detail not repeated elsewhere.
